What a Designer Does (Part I)

“Engineers make thing work. Designers make things work for people.”

A designer focuses on human interactions. Decisions are made based on how they affect the overall experience.

What’s great about this quote is that ‘designers’ and ‘engineers’ doesn’t have to refer to disciplines. At Bright Corner, I’m fortunate to work with an amazing group of ‘engineers’ who are definitely focused on creating great online customer experiences. We all think ‘like designers’—with empathy and concern for the people who will be using the systems we build.
